The sewing pattern includes full step by step instructions to make the bag using purchased ready-made piping, but you can also make your own to coordinate perfectly. The bag can also be made without the piping if desired. The interior of the bag is lined with a quilted batting layer to give the bag structure and support. This is the least expensive way to make the bag and likely the most convenient in regards to your sewing supplies on hand. Alternately, you can use a stabilizer or interfacing to give it an extra amount of structure.

This pattern is inspired by a bag that Cinnamon (Liberty Jane) had as a child, her favorite treasured "toy" originally made by her mom. This recreation of the item was a team effort and we are super excited to offer this pattern to you! Maybe it will create a cherished memory for someone in your life too!

The bag is offered in two sizes: Small (for 13-15" dolls) and Large (for larger dolls up to 18 inches tall)

The small bag pictured on the cover measures 17 inches long by 10 inches wide, is sized to work with 13-inch to 15-inch dolls such as Les Cheries®, Hearts For Hearts Girls®, Glitter Girls®, Ruby Red Fashion Friends®, Bitty Baby®, Bitty Twin®, Melissa and Doug® Baby Dolls, and more!

The larger bag, shown in purple, is sized a bit larger. The bag measures 20-inches long by 10 inches wide and fits 18" dolls such as American GIrl®, Journey Girls®, My Life As®, Our Generation®, and more.

The PDF pattern document includes both measurement charts and printable pattern pieces that need to be taped together. You can use the charts in place of printing out the pattern pieces if desired.

Suggested fabrics:

• Woven no stretch, medium to heavyweight fabric for the body of the bag such as corduroy, twill, duck, or denim. Can be combined with interfacings such as Pellon® SF101 or Soft N Stable® brand thin foam stabilizer (featured in the turquoise/pink example) 
  
• Quilting Cotton for the bag lining
  
• Optionally, you can find pre quilted fabric on the bolt. This works great for the lining and the quilting work is done for you which saves time!

Fabric Used: I used contrasting and toning Quilter’s Cotton for my Sleeping Bags and Pillows and high loft flame retardant polyester batting. This is a fun way to use up fabric pieces too small for a complete garment but too large to throw out.
