Since before the Middle Ages the shirt has existed as a piece of clothing, but then only as underwear for men or as a nightgown.
In the 18th century, the shirt was no longer worn only as underwear. The collar grew into large proportions and was decorated with embroidery and lace. At the end of the World War I, the shirt went through a major transformation. It was only at that time the modern shirt with buttons all along the front became popular.
This PDF sewing pattern includes photographic sewing instructions to make a Shirt with either long cuffed sleeves or short sleeves and will fit the 18" slim Carpatina Boy Dolls or the Kidz n Cats® Dolls.
Special Note: This pattern will not fit the regularly sized 18" doll such as American Girl®.
Recommended Fabrics: Lightweight cotton or linen

- 1/3 yard main fabric
- 3 snaps or buttons for front closure
- 2 snaps or buttons for sleeve cuffs
- Matching threads
